Here are a few events to start getting you in the holiday spirit this weekend in the Magic City.
George Benson
Legendary musician George Benson will perform on Friday, November 13 at 8 p.m. at the Alys Stephens Center. This event marks Benson’s first visit to Birmingham in four decades. Purchase tickets for this must-see performance.
Christmas Lighting Event
If you’re ready to get in the Christmas spirit, head over to the Shops at Grand River for its Christmas tree lighting event on November 12. Hosted by Fox 6’s JehJeh Pruitt, the event will start at 5 p.m. and will include interactive entertainment with the Minions, Enchanted Princesses and Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys R Us. The tree lighting will be held at 6 p.m., and there will also be live performances from the Alabama Ballet, the Birmingham Girls Choir and Red Mountain Theater Company. Kids will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and participate in face painting, cookie decorating and balloon art.
Don’t Stress It
Need a fun time out with like-minded women? Head on over the Pelham Civic Center from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the High Noon Stressbuster. Hosted by visionary Crystal NeVille, the event will offer food, door prizes and games, as well as a motivational speech by success coach Dee Edwards.
