Although the temperature outside says otherwise, fall is officially here. I don’t know about you, but it’s one of my favorite times of the year. Honestly, the shorter days aren’t my favorite, I am looking forward to snuggling up to some of my favorite shows and checking out some new shows and movies that will be premiering soon. Here are a few to which I am looking forward.
Boston Blue
In BOSTON BLUE, a universe expansion of the long-running top drama BLUE BLOODS, Donnie Wahlberg will reprise his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Silver, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.
Reasonable Doubt
Jax Stewart is known to be the most brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles who bucks the justice system at every chance she gets; she’s judged for her questionable ethics and wild interpretations of the law until she’s needed.
9-1-1 Nashville
9-1-1: Nashville is an upcoming American procedural drama television series set to premiere on ABC on October 9, 2025. It serves as the second spin-off of the 9-1-1 franchise, following 9-1-1: Lone Star, which concluded in February 2025. The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also serving as executive producers. Set in Nashville, Tennessee, the series follows the lives of emergency responders—including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers—as they face life-threatening situations.
Highest 2 Lowest
When a titan music mogul (Denzel Washington), widely known as having the “best ears in the business,” is targeted with a ransom plot, he is jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma. Brothers Denzel Washington and Spike Lee reunite for the fifth time in their long working relationship for a reinterpretation of the great filmmaker Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller “High and Low,” now played out on the mean streets of modern day New York City.
Matlock
Brilliant septuagenarian Madeline “Matty” Matlock, who, after achieving success in her younger years, decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within. Matty is assigned to Olympia, a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice, while Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian, the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. Matty works alongside the firm’s younger associates — the charismatic Billy and the uber ambitious Sarah — as she endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world.
Ruth and Boaz
This Tyler Perry production finds a singer leaving the Atlanta music scene and starting over in small-town Tennessee, where she finds love and new purpose but can’t escape the past.
Him
A young athlete descends into a world of terror when he’s invited to train with a legendary champion whose charisma curdles into something darker. The Jordan Peele movie stars Marlon Wayans.
Wicked: For Good
Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. This is the second of a two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical, which stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
Law and Order: SVU
There’s a reason this show is the longest running drama. The series follows the New York City Police Department’s (NYPD) Special Victims Unit (SVU), a specially trained squad of detectives who investigates sex crimes including rape, child sexual abuse, human trafficking and domestic violence.
The Chicago series
The Chicago series refers to a popular media franchise, primarily known for the “One Chicago” television series, which includes Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med. These NBC dramas, created by Dick Wolf, follow the lives of firefighters, police officers, and medical professionals in Chicago, with episodes often featuring crossovers and shared storylines. The original series, Chicago Fire, premiered in 2012, followed by Chicago P.D. in 2014 and Chicago Med in 2015.
