Account manager and entrepreneur Renee Spivey is a living witness that fervent prayer changes things. She found out this truth when she read the book that changed her life.
What is the book that changed your life?
Fervent by Priscilla Shirer
Tell me about the book.
You have an enemy . . . and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What’s more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn’t general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It’s specific. Personalized. Targeted.
So this book is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit.
Why did it impact you?
This book, along with the movie War Room, really changed my life by fully opening my eyes to the power of prayer. I’ve prayed all of my life, but never fervently as displayed in the movie and in the book. Once I started learning how to fervently pray, my life started changing. I started feeling better physically, mentally and emotionally. I feel at peace now, and not as anxious as I once did. I still have moments where I worry, get anxious, stress, etc., but instead of letting those moments linger and overwhelm me, I pray. I also believe that because of this book and learning to pray fervently and not by rote, I have become a better wife, mother, employee and child of God.
Is there anything you would like to add?
I highly recommend that anyone who needs a stirring in their life, who needs and wants their prayer life to change, then this book is a must read! Effectual, fervent prayer really does work!
