LaTanya G. Jordan, the April 2020 Momma of the Month, is determined to keep God first.
Tell me about yourself.
I am LaTanya G. Jordan (Lady J.). I am 49 years young—I will be 50 in August 2020
I am from Birmingham, Alabama. I have two daughters, Alexis, 22, and Abigail, 16, and one fur baby, Jeffery. I have been married to the love of my life Dr. Derrick D. Jordan for 25 years. I am employed with Jefferson County Board of Education at Center Point High School.
What do you want your kids to learn from your life?
I want my daughter’s to learn so much from me. A few examples are: my mistakes, my success, my failures, my disappointments, But, most importantly My Faith in God! I try to live the Word of God and be the Women of God every day of my life and in everything I do.
What are the best and worst things about living in Birmingham?
The best thing about living in Birmingham is family. I have lived away in another state before, and it’s nothing like being able to go by your family’s house for a visit anytime you want. I really don’t have a worst thing about living in Birmingham.
What is your proudest personal moment?
My proudest personal moment was when I crossed Alpha Kappa Alpha spring 2018 at the age of 48 years young and my oldest daughter Alexis pinned me. She crossed in 2016. I always tell my girls don’t ever give up on your dreams and goals. I did not give up on my goal. I still have many to accomplish.
What is your proudest mom moment?
My proudest mom moment is when something I have taught, live, said, instilled in my girls or showed an example of comes to life through them and their actions. I tell my girls I am proud to be their mom.
What is your proudest wife moment?
My proudest wife moment was when my husband completed his second Doctorate. Another moment is when he became the Man of God & Father he is purposed to be. I tell him often I am proud to be your wife.
What advice do you have for women trying to juggle marriage and motherhood?
Women who are trying to juggle marriage and motherhood I would say, put God first and your will and plans second. This relieves so much stress off me. Why? Because God knows the plans He has for my life and they are GOOD (Jeremiah 29:11)! Me, I am still trying to just live out what God already planned and not mess it up.
What’s next for LaTanya G. Jordan?
What’s next for LaTanya G. Jordan? So many things! I’m allowing God’s plan to be put into action daily. I have many things coming soon. Stay tuned.
Is there anything you would like to add?
I would like to add that I am so honored to be a part of your blog’s Momma of the Month and what you are doing. Thank you for thinking of me.
