Since Mother’s Day is coming up on May 9. In preparation of that, today, please join me in saying a prayer for mothers.
Lord,
I come before you today thanking you for mothers. I thank you for the ones who are presently on this earth, those who are no longer here and those who are to come. I thank you for the women who desire to become mothers but for whatever reason, your will has not allowed it. I thank you for those who have served in a mothering role and helped to nurture those who did not belong to them biologically.
I ask that you would give all mothers encouragement this day.
For those who are overworked and underpaid, bless them. For those who are struggling to raise kids on their own, bless them. For those who have lost their children, bless them. For those trying to do the right thing and raise good kids, bless them. For those who are so focused on themselves that their kids have fallen to the wayside, bless them. For those trying to build a business or career while raising their family, bless them. For those who are home with their kids all day and looking forward to naptime, bless them. For those whose children are transitioning to new situations and opportunities, bless them.
For those who are worried about raising a black child in today’s times, bless them with a peace that surpasses all understanding and give their children protection. For those who are tired, renew their strength. For those lacking patience, give them more. For those needing encouragement, place the right person in their path. For those struggling to put food on the table, be a provider and open doors that no man can open.
Lord, I thank you for placing mothers in our lives. I thank you specifically for my mother and the example she set for me. I thank you for blessing me to become a momma to an awesome kid. I pray that you would help me to be the mother you would have me to be. I thank you for all that mothers are and continue to be in our lives. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
