Author and certified health coach Glenda Gill wants to help you lead a healthier life. I recently spoke with her about her coaching practice.
Tell me about your business.
I am a Dr. Sears Wellness Institute Certified Health Coach with a coaching practice focused on helping people live healthier lives. I offer a variety of customizable group workshops, individual consultations, wellness luncheons, and lectures that are appropriate for businesses, schools, community groups, teachers, parent groups, churches, home schools, individuals, and more! They are geared towards helping people prevent disease, sharpen thinking, boost energy, reduce the risk of cancer, high blood pressure, and other chronic diseases. I am also the author of LEAD Yourself to Optimum Health with Plant-Based Nutrition, which provides a wealth of information on plant-based nutrition, as well as the science explaining why animal-based products are harmful to the body. It is available in digital or paperback at Amazon.com.
Why did you decide to start it?
I decided to start health coaching because I personally experienced the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and I wanted to help others live their best possible lives. After taking a plant-based nutrition course and becoming a certified health coach, I realized people dying of chronic diseases such as heart attacks and strokes is not a normal part of aging, and can be prevented with a healthy diet and exercise. My goal is to motivate people to make their health a priority.
What can patrons expect when they purchase products or services from you?
They can expect friendly and professional service with a personal touch.
What’s the best business advice you have ever gotten?
Get clear about what you want to do, develop a business plan, do the market research, start your business, and surround yourself with likeminded people.
What advice do you have for others interested in starting a business?
Start now! Develop a plan, research your target market, start your business, and network on a continuous basis.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an entrepreneur?
I have learned developing relationships is critical to business success. People have to be sold on me, as a person, and not necessarily on the products or services I offer.
What’s next for Glenda Gill?
I am working on my 2018 schedule with plans to travel for book talks, mastermind group discussions, group workshops, and fitness events. I am also planning to write another book and start a values-based company with a mission to empower people to take charge of their health.
Do you have anything you would like to add?
I am open to partnering with businesses or people, who are on a similar mission to help themselves or others live a healthier life. I also invite everyone to become a subscriber at www.glendagill.net to receive my weekly blog, an organic buying guide, and five tips for adding healthy, whole foods to their diet.
