Former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard Johnson is back in the spotlight with her first book.

“I Said Yes is a book about God’s love and redemption, no matter how many mistakes you’ve made—or in my case, failed television engagements. I really just wanted to put out a book that was encouraging and reminded women that there is always hope in tomorrow,” said Johnson who appeared on the eighth season of the reality show.

“I think the biggest lesson I would want readers to get from my story is learning about God’s faithfulness and love. Even at times that I thought I was unlovable, He loved me despite all of my shortcomings and mistakes.”

In 2014, Johnson married Tyler Johnson, and she recently gave birth to her second child, Jennings Tyler, who joins big sister, Ricki.

“Honestly, looking back I have no idea what I was thinking,” she said about looking for love on reality television. “All I know is I learned so much about myself, faith, and the world that I’m very grateful for the opportunity. As a people pleaser I spent so much time worrying about if people would like me, whether the guys would like me, and why someone would say something nasty about me online. However, in the end, it was my relationship with Jesus that made me realize none of that matters.”

For those who long to be married, Johnson encourages readers to enjoy this season of life.

“Find out what makes (you) happy away from the dating. God’s timing is better than anything we could imagine for ourselves, so as long as you’re patient and don’t settle, it will all be worth it in the end.”
